3 Quick & Easy Ways to Get Your Home Ready to Sell in 2023
For most of us selling a home is a daunting task. Here are 3 quick & easy ways to get your home prepared & ready to sell for full market value.
If you want to sell your home with a minimum of fuss & bother, here’s what I suggest you do:
1. Wash & paint the front door
As a buyer walks up to your home it’s important to create a great first impression. Nothing says ‘don’t buy me’ faster than a dirty unkempt front door. Consider giving your front door a good wash. If you have time, a fresh coat of paint will make a huge difference to your home’s ‘welcome factor’.
2. Declutter the front entryway
Have you heard of the ‘the rule of the first 5 seconds?’
Your buyer may decide to purchase before they even take off their shoes. You are trying to create a quick & easy ‘hello’ in the mind of the buyer. Remove shoes, coats, & children’s toys etc. from the front door area. Put down a new & larger mat in the hallway, so that visitors can walk in & easily take off their shoes whilst they assess your home for the first few seconds of their visit.
3. Depersonalize the home
If you have many photographs of family members on your fridge, on the walls, or on shelves & bookcases, pack them away. Some buyers become so overwhelmed by how strong a mark you have put on the home, that they will be unable to picture themselves living there.
