Many home buyers missed out during the heady days of Spring when multiple offers were normal. Many home buyers took off the summer. Many home buyers want to be settled by Christmas a key emotional benchmark for many people. These folks will be out shopping in earnest in September and beyond.

4. Prices May Go Up

What happens when demand is strong, and supply goes down?

Typically, prices go up.

It’s not unusual to see buyers clamoring for homes they can move into before Christmas and in so doing they will often pay more in the last quarter than during the summer months.
