Situation

Mr. Gulati and his wife Mrignayani had decided to move into the home of their daughter and family. Because the market was tougher for home sellers, Mr. Gulati decided to buy the Comfree (Purple Bricks) program because it was so inexpensive relative to what he perceived as his only other option i.e. a traditional full commission REALTOR®.

It did not take too long for Mr. Gulati to realise that there is more to selling a home than listing it on the Edmonton MLS® System. He found that he was simply not in touch with the market, that it was far too time consuming to show the home and when he did, the quality of the buyer prospects paying visits to his former home was not high.

Mr. Gulati started to look around for an alternative service provider. The flat fee program offered by Vital Home Realty was an obvious choice.

Result

Marketing Mr. Gulati’s home was a tough call. In order to create more living space for themselves they had eliminated one of the bedrooms, effectively changing the original builders plan from a 3 bedroom to a 2-bedroom home in what was essentially a family neighbourhood. This required us to create and execute some very specific advertising on Facebook and other social media.

After a reasonable period of time a suitable buyer was found. We identified a buyer who had the skills and desire to build in a third bedroom. On behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Gulati we negotiated full market value and they are now enjoying retirement without the stress of home ownership.
