Glenora was developed in 1905 by James Carruthers and is one of the most sought-after communities. The area was at first connected to Edmonton by the Caruthers bridge, after which construction of the new official mansion for the lieutenant governor of Alberta commenced. It was completed in 1913. This in turn created demand for lots from the cities well to do, whom wanted to live close to the mansion. Today you will find grand old homes of the past, together with some stunning new infill pieces.
