3 Things We Like About Encore Master Builders
Encore Master Builders was first established in 1985 by Linda and Doug Hoffman.
In 1996 Encore Master Builders and Lincolnberg homes merged and was managed by Mr. Hoffman. During this period, the company experienced rapid growth and constructed around 300 homes. In 1998 the company de-merged and Mr. Hoffman resumed management of Encore Master Builders Inc.
According to the Encore website, in 2011 the Hoffman children purchased 50% of the company shares. In 2017, the balance of the shares was sold and today the company is entirely run by Doug’s children.
Encore Master Builders has successfully constructed over 2000 homes in and around the Edmonton market. And for many years, it was Encore Master Builders that constructed the ‘Klondike Days Dream Home’.
We especially enjoy the strapline found on their website “When It’s Over You’ll Want an Encore” and the company motto “Expect to be impressed”.
The 3 things that we like the most about Encore Master Builders are:
1. A Family Firm With a Strong After Sales Service Focus.
We have found that its easy to contact the company. The website is user friendly and when calling the company, it’s easy to navigate the phone system. The Encore spokesperson we spoke to also wanted to emphasize the focus on after sales service. He told us that every Encore customer enjoys a 2-month post move in review and 11-month review. We understand the firm has won several awards for excellent in this regard from various industry bodies.
2. Full Custom Option
We understand that the Encore Master Builder design team will happily work with you to create a custom home of your dreams. Subject to budget of course. The firm builds infill from time to time, and they have a great deal of experience of creating a homer literally from the germ of an idea to the point where a beautiful home exists.
3. Higher End Specifications
We toured the show home located in Riverside St Albert recently. If you are looking for a budget spec home, you may not want to build with Encore. The model home on display was crafted to a very high standard. We especially enjoyed the exercise room in the basement replete with a sound system, wet bar, and bathroom facility. It was priced well above $600,000 and it showed. At the time of writing (April 2024) Encore has will be continuing to sell in the Riverside community but the show home has been sold and will be closed. A spokesperson for Encore informed me that the builder will be focusing their attention next on Blatchford and a show home is being constructed. The spokesperson told me it will be finished by June 2024, and prices will start at around $570,000. See below for more information.
Homes Available for Quick Possession
The company offers a number of homes on a “quick possession” basis. When this article was written there did not appear to be many homes that were ready to move into, although I did see one that was offered with November possession. Perhaps this is a sign of the times. Home sites are currently at a premium and many builders we talk to are waiting for developers to release new lots.
